Lord Rozen's Comments:
Not much is known of the mysterious fox beyond theory. She answers to an equally mysterious Conclave, and has dealings as both Oscura's spy and Kiriad's part-time lover. As of late, she has officially been kicked out of the palace, but still observes, which led to Conclave interference via their other agent, Coneen, who doesn't seem to care for her antics and involvements.
A personal theory is that she turned Gaia in to Oscura. Considering Gaia built the palace and had a map of all guard routes and side passages, and wasn't found out for months during her visitation with Ghislain, but happened to be found out by the entire council on the night she applied the aquired ingredient to her egg is awfully suspicious.
Her name is possibly from the Celtic 'Shalay' meaning "from the fairy palace". Given her stealth abilities, and the creator's idea that the foxes are somewhat celtic, this seems logical.
